Andrew Palmer

About Me

Hey everyone! I was born in Iowa though I grew up in Olympia and have spent the vast majority of my life in Washington. I received a Bachelors of Science in physics from the University of Washington and spent a year attending masters level classes at the Justis Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. As a student I always found a thrill in breaking down complicated problems into smaller, more simple and fundamental components then building an answer from the ground up. In my experience this is one of the best ways to both teach and learn math and physics. I love all areas of the sciences but I have an especially soft spot in my heart for special relativity and quantum mechanics. There's something about the two theories' simultaneous elegance and complete disregard for common sense that keeps me continually fascinated.

In my free time I love to perform stand-up comedy at clubs and venues all around Seattle. The creative challenge of making strangers laugh is one of the most fun and rewarding experiences I have ever had.
