About Me

Everyone has an inner physicist, and when I tutor I make it my job to bring it out. When you seek out private instruction in this challenging and most fundamental of subjects, you want it to be with someone who eats this stuff for breakfast, and that’s me. No, literally, I often start the day out with a bowl of Cheerios while I get work done on the 4’ x 8’ chalkboard I have mounted in my apartment. I love this subject, and helping others gain insight and proficiency in physics is part of the fun.

The enthusiasm I have for my primary field also extends to mathematics, which is of course indispensable to physics. Whether it’s Algebra, Probability, or college Calculus, teaching math is fulfilling work for me. My experience has convinced me that virtually anyone can gain an understanding of Calculus, and I get a kick out of proving that every time I work with a student taking this course.

When I’m not working or studying I like to indulge my musical appetites. Having entered college at 18 as a piano performance major, I’ve since changed direction but playing is still important to me. I have an interest in composing, and at some point in life I’m going to learn to play the banjo. That’s right, turn off Guitar Hero and pick up a banjo!
