I've devoted my life to learning and as a perpetual student understand the difficulty of retaining vast amounts of information.  Having been a teacher, construction worker, sailor, and at present a scientist, let me assure you that I know what you are going through.  To those of you who choose me to be your tutor, I also know how to explain the most complex subjects in terms that you can understand.  This ability is largely one I've had to develop out of necessity.  I am always studying something but have spent a lot of my life surrounded by people who don't share the same interests.  Since I like to talk about the things I'm learning and most of those things wind up being outside my friends' experience, I have had to come up with countless ways to explain things. 

Six years ago I cut my career as an electrical engineer short and have spent the last years earning a degree in neuroscience while simultaneously working in the field.  By the time I graduated last year - magne cum laude and with honors from UC Riverside - I already had three years in the lab and two publications in international journals.  I'm a specialist in learning and memory and have used this knowledge to develop different strategies for retaining information and am confident I can help you get the grades you want and also make it easier to do so on your own. 

I have experience teaching at any level, from basic math to helping a colleague study for her medical license.  Currently I'm taking some time off school to spend time with my wife and infant son but will be going on with my studies in the fall of 2012.  My hours are flexible and I'm easy to talk to; I never shout, am funny at least once a day, and can't wait to get started.
